4 c. Flour ½ tsp. Ground nutmeg
½ c. Sugar ¾ c. Molasses
1 ¼ tsp. Baking soda ½ c. Butter
1 ½ tsp. Cinnamon 2 Beaten Eggs
½ tsp. Ground cloves Dash of Pepper
Sifted Powdered Sugar  

Combine dry ingredients with dash of pepper.

In a saucepan, heat molasses and butter until butter melts-Cool, stir in eggs.  Add dry ingredients.  Mix well.  Cover and chill several hours or overnight.

Grease cookie sheet, shape dough into 1 inch balls and bake at 350’degrees for 12 to 14 minutes.  Cool.  Roll in powdered sugar.
