NUSSTORTE (Nut Torte)

CAKE

5 eggs 2/3 cup flour
1 cup sugar 1 shot glass rum
1 tsp. Vanilla or 1 pkg. Vanilla sugar
Beat egg yolks with sugar, vanilla and rum until creamy, add flour and mix well. Beat egg whites until stiff. Slowly fold into the above mixture.
Grease 9" spring form. Instead of using flour, to flour spring form, one may also use bread crumbs. Bake 35-40 minutes at 350 F. Cool slightly. Take out of spring form. Cut cake in half.

FILLING

I cup chopped nuts, preferably Hazelnuts, but one can also use Walnuts, Pecans etc.
2 pints whipping cream - whipped
Mix nuts and whipped cream together. Spread one half of mixture on bottom half of cake, top with top part of cake and spread rest of mixture on cake and sides. Decorate top with Chocolate shavings.
